A semi-truck hit a car, bounced off a guardrail and then hit another semi Thursday night on Interstate 82.

The Washington State Patrol said Andra D. Bishop, a 69-year-old Ypsilanti, Mich., man, was driving too fast for the winter road conditions. It was after the freezing rain began falling.

Bishop struck a silver 2005 Honda CRV with the blue 2017 Freightliner semi-truck he was driving on the highway about five miles south of Kennewick. He was pulling a trailer when they collided going the same direction.

The semi swerved and hit a guardrail and came back to the highway to strike a white 2015 Volvo semi-truck and trailer going the same way, according to the WSP.

The only person reported injured was Esther Mesa, a 52-year-old Yakima woman, who was riding with Bishop. She was taken to Trios Southridge for treatment.

Bishop was issued a citation for negligent driving in the second degree.
