Police Remind Drivers Pay Attention to School Zones or You’ll Pay

School is officially back in session in Tri-Cities and that means lots of Kids walking to and from school and that means you need to REALLY pay attention to those reduced speeds in School Zones. Also DO NOT PASS BUSSES While the Stop sign is out and kids are exiting. Just a friendly reminder!

Here's a message from the Kennewick Police Department:

School is back in session starting today which means lots of children, cars and schools buses in and around school zones. Safety is our #1 priortity so please remember to reduce distractions and slow down to 20mph prior to entering a school zone.

All of our commissioned staff with be out in the school zones this week to help remind drivers to slow down. Fines for speed violations in school zones are double and by law, a Judge cannot reduce the fine.
