Red Flag Warning in Effect

The National Weather Service in Pendleton, OR  has issued a Red Flag Warning has been issued for Tuesday afternoon until 10 pm.

The warning means warmer temperatures and low humidities with stronger winds can produce a greater risk of fire danger.  Outdoor burning is NOT recommended.

The warning affects the lower Columbia Basin including Moses Lake and Grant County.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office issued the following statement:

On August 11th, 2018, five homes were lost in the Bofer Canyon Fire and two horses died.  The fire burned approximately five-thousand acres.
