Report: ‘American Horror Story’ Season 6 Will Feature Slender Man
Now that we’ve largely washed away the stench of American Horror Story: Hotel, talk naturally turns to the sixth chapter of Ryan Murphy’s FX frightfest, still largely under wraps. We know of at least one returning cast member, while a new report suggests that Season 6 might actually feature urban legend meme “Slender Man.”
Take this all with a grain of salt for the moment, as there are depths even to Murphy’s unoriginality, but US Weekly claims an inside source is privy to negotiations for the rights to “Slender Man,” a children-hunting ghoul that originated in Something Awful forums back in 2009, and has since become a commonly-recognized horror meme.
Someone else wrote the script, and AHS wants to adapt it to fit the show. They have to buy the rights. Then they’re going to figure out the cast from there.
The report also claims that FX is working diligently to re-secure Lady Gaga, who inexplicably won a Golden Globe for her Hotel role as “The Countess,” and has yet to address Ryan Murphy’s public invitation to return. Little of the sixth season has yet been revealed, other than to expect the premiere in fall, and that the season would take place in two different time periods. Murphy recently also confirmed that he had a shocking part in mind for franchise veteran Angela Bassett.
American Horror Story will likely drop further Season 6 details over the coming months, but could Slender Man really take part? How about a Space Slender Man? You may think I’m going to let this go, but you’d be wrong.
