If a lead role in each subsequent American Horror Story and an Emmy for The People v. O.J. Simpson hadn’t clued you in, Sarah Paulson remains one of Ryan Murphy’s closest collaborators. So it is, that after a universally-acclaimed turn as Marcia Clark, Paulson is confirmed to return for the Katrina-centric Season 2 of American Crime Story.

Whereas Paulson was previously only suggested to return for the as-yet untitled second season of FX’s American Crime Story, creator Ryan Murphy confirmed the erstwhile Marcia Clark would have another prominent role in Season 2. “She’ll be back, yes,” said Murphy at a Fox Emmy party attended by The Hollywood Reporter. “We’re excited about that one.”

Last we heard, American Crime Story Season 2 would draw its Katrina inspiration from Douglas Brinkley’s The Great Deluge, also potentially expanding its run as 13-15 episodes. John Travolta has his own character in mind, though American Crime Story Season 2 is officially looking to cast actors for George W. Bush, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin and Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco.

We’ll learn more as American Crime Story Season 2 gears up for production later this year, but will Paulson’s role prove as memorable (or Emmy-worthy) as Marcia Clark?
