Seattle Seahawks Release the Last Player from Holmgren Era
Today the Seattle Seahawks released the player that has been with the team the longest by far...10 long years! That player has given us tons of memories that I know will stick with me forever.
I am sad to say, long time Seahawks punter Jon Ryan was released by the team and he had a typical Jon Ryan response to the news.
The response was classic quirky Jon Ryan. He has always been able to make us laugh while being such a consistent part of our team that we could always count on.
Remember the 4th down play in the NFC Championship game against the Packers? It was Jon Ryan that got us back in the game with an unusual 4th down pass to the back of the end zone. I will never forget the look on his face while he is running to his left to throw the ball.
I will never forget his long red locks of hair that stuck out from under his blue helmet when he first joined the team or how he competed on American Ninja Warrior. From then on he was called the Ginger Ninja. #gingerninja
Jon Ryan was an amazingly great punter and teammate. He will be missed greatly by the 12's.
Thanks for the memories Jon, and good luck wherever you go. Unless it is the 49ers...Just kidding.
I put some pictures of some of my favorite Jon Ryan moments below.
