September Weekends in Tri-Cities Are Made for Fun!
Just because school is back in session, that doesn't mean that fun has to stop. Especially when we have so many cool events going on pretty much every weekend in September. Here are some fun things to check out this weekend, you know, when you aren't busy with homework!
Fall Hand Lettering!- Join Blank Space/The Local as Millicent from Millicent Maker leads us in the art of hand-lettering! Practice the techniques of cursive stroke shapes and print-lettering, as you learn to make "Pintrest"-worthy projects, including beautiful folded cards that we will create in-class! You'll leave this workshop with the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to start creating your own signs and artwork...the possibilities are endless!
Pickin' Tri-Cities Vintage Show & Artisan Market- Look out Tri-Cities! The creators of the fabulous "Pickin' Shows" throughout the West is returning Saturday, September 15th from 9 am to 6 pm and Sunday, September 16th from 10 am to 4 pm. At the TRAC Center at 6600 Burden Blvd in Pasco. Admission is $7 and is good for ALL weekend. Vintage, antique, artisan handcrafts, signs, jewelry, rustic, reclaimed, repurposed and so much more. Get ready for 15 hours of shopping fun!
Stacy Jones Band- Her music has been described as “A Whiskey & Water Baptism that lace Blues and Rock edges.” “With her feet firmly planted in roots-based music, Stacy Jones pays homage to the blues but experiments by mixing in some mild-Americana and subtle country licks. Dynamic vocals fueled by powerful lyrics.” “the rolling thunder blues of Howlin’ Wolf mixed with the honesty of Lucinda Williams. See her perform this Saturday at At Michele's in Richland.
Glassblowing Pumpkin Classes- Work with the studio glassblower and create your own, unique art glass pumpkin! Lots of colors to choose from. Family and kid friendly. Several sessions available, starting at 9 am on Saturday, September 15 and continuing on through Sunday afternoon. Start times are adjustable depending on the number of participants. On average, we will schedule 2 people per hour. Grab a friend or two and explore the ancient art of glassblowing! Class fee is $50 per person. Batman Day at Barnes and Nobel!- If there ever were a superhero who deserved their own holiday, it would be our beloved caped crusader. Batman has evolved from a comic book hero, to a movie franchise, a video game star, Halloween costume, and a Six Flags amusement park ride, among so many other incarnations. That’s one busy bat! Celebrate Batman Day by heading to Barnes & Noble this Saturday, September 15th for a day of all-ages events, including coloring activities, trivia, and special giveaways.
