***UPDATE***

Due to an apparent mishap over two inmates who closely resembled each other, a Level 3 sex offender has been mistakenly released from the Franklin County jail.

Authorities say 32-year-old Jose Eduardo Carcamo was released because he looked almost exactly like another inmate who was scheduled to be released Monday afternoon on a drug possession charge.

Carcamo had been jailed on an assault charge not related to his sex offender conviction and status.  He is a Level 3 offender, and his last known address was in the 6600 block of Wrigley Drive in Pasco.

He had been convicted back in 2005 on 1st Degree Child Molestation. Most such offenders (level 3) are required to register as a sex offender for life.

Level 3 is considered the most likely to re-offend.

Anyone who recognizes him or has information is urged to call (509)-628-0333. All leads can be confidential.
