Saturday evening, two drivers were involved in a tailgating crash in Kennewick.

Police responded to the 3900 block of West Kennewick Ave. after a report two vehicles slammed into each other.

One driver admitted she was following a relative, and they were both traveling at a high rate of speed.

The car in front slowed, the woman slammed on her brakes and lost control. She ended up hitting an electrical pole, and then a sign in front of a church (pictured).

Police said it was lucky there were no pedestrians in the area, or no church services going on, as that would have made the situation much worse.

No word as to what specific citations were issued.
