Tri-Cities Ranked Most Secure Mid-Size U.S. Community!

It's no surprise to any of us that Tri-Cities ranks as a great place to live! And other than the relentless wind...I would  have to agree!

We have so many great things about our communities here. And for the most part, better weather than a lot of other places! Check out the story in the Tri-City Herald about the rankings.

"The Tri-Cities was ranked as the most secure mid-size U.S. community by Farmers Insurance Group of Companies in its annual ranking of nearly 400 U.S. communities.

Kennewick, Richland and Pasco reclaimed the top mid-size city spot for those with a population between 150,000 and 500,000 that it previously held in 2005.

It marks the sixth time the area has been ranked in the study’s Top 20, according to a news release.

The ranking is largely due to a high job growth rate and low housing depreciation and unemployment rate, according to the news release.

The rankings took into consideration crime statistics, extreme weather, risk of natural disasters, housing depreciation, foreclosures, air quality, terrorist threats, environmental hazards, life expectancy, mortality rates from cancer and motor vehicle accidents, and job loss numbers.

Representatives from Farmers Insurance Group will attend the May 15 Kennewick City Council meeting to recognize Kennewick."
