Two of the Most Polluted Places in Oregon Are in Mid Columbia

Umatilla made Oregon's Most Polluted list after high perchlorate levels (salt derived from perchloric acid) were discovered in a well.

This isn't the first time a red flag has been raised for this, according to this same type of situation was found in more than half the wells!

Not only that, but chemical waste was discharged into an unlined lake causing the surrounding soil and groundwater to be contaminated!

The Environmental Protection Agency is working with both state and local officials to closely monitor the situation.
