More information is being released about the fatal shooting of a 51-year-old woman near Prosser Saturday night. The woman, whose name has not been released, was said to be the suspect's wife.

According to Benton County Deputies and arrest reports, a son of 55-year-old Silvestre Fuentes Sr. was at their home in the 17000 block of N. 1083 PR NW around 4pm. The son left, leaving the two home alone.

A neighbor reported hearing multiple gun shots around 8:30pm that night, but it was not unusual because Fuentes was known to fire off his pistol to scare away unwanted animals. The neighbor recalled seeing the suspect's vehicle still parked outside sometime later.

By the time their son returned home, around 9:45pm, and found Fuente's wife on the floor with gunshot wounds, the Ford Bronco driven by Fuentes was gone. Deputies found three .45 caliber casings on the floor, it's the same caliber as a gun kept under Fuente's pillow.

Authorities couldn't find the gun, and upon checking the Bronco's registration, found it was licensed in a daughter's name, but Fuentes drove it himself. She was contacted and told officers her father had wanted to meet with her. He reportedly told her two men broke into their home, put a bag over his head, then shot his wife.

He was arrested in Union Gap, and his previously missing vehicle was found behind a business in Toppenish. Fuentes is facing a First-Degree Murder charge.
