*Administrative Assistant I - Community Development Department
The Community Development Department is seeking applications for a full-time Administrative Assistant I. Primary responsibilities include coordinating the permitting process, tracking projects, and preparing reports. The pay scale for this position is $3,234-$3,640/mo with benefits.
*Lateral Police Officer
The City of College Place is accepting applications to form an eligibility list for lateral entry Police Officers. Applicants must be United States citizens, be a minimum of twenty-one years of age, and have graduated from high school or obtained a GED. A degree in Criminal Justice is preferred. Lateral entry candidates must be employed as a commissioned full-time, general authority law enforcement officer for a minimum of two years by the closing date for the examination. If not presently employed with an accredited police agency for two or more years, lateral entry candidates must be eligible to challenge and complete a course of study designed by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission. Salary range for lateral entry officers is $4,788 to $5,389 DOE.
*Police officer entry level candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen;
- Minimum of 21 years of age at the time of the final selection process;
- Must at a minimum be a high school graduate. Persons who have completed some college courses or have a college or university degree are preferred;
- Must have a valid Washington or Oregon driver’s license depending on the candidate’s state of residency or, if living outside of Washington or Oregon, be able to obtain a valid license in either state within 30 days of moving after acceptance of a final job offer, and
- Must pass the physical and written test administered by Public Safety Testing before submitting an application.
*The Farmers Market Coordinator will manage the operation of the College Place Farmers Market. This is a part-time (8 hrs/week), hourly position that will start early April and continue through early October. Weekly hours will vary with the exception of being present on Thursdays (May 31 - September 27) from 3:00pm - 8:00pm to assist vendors and customers before, during, and after the market. The market will be in the parking lot of City Hall from 4:00pm - 7:00pm each Thursday.

This would involve community outreach, formal and informal meetings, the ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and provide written recommendations to City staff. This is a part-time temporary paid (12.00/hr) internship.
