Wedding Dresses Senselessly Destroyed

I was shocked to see a report on the Today Show about a bridal store in Minnesota going out of business. In this day and current economy that is not shocking but how they decided to get rid of their merchandise was.

I am appalled in this day and age a company would rater destroy beautiful gowns than give them away to someone in need. Or at least recycle the fabric. This is just a slap in the face for the planet and our economy. What do you think? Wasteful? Senseless?
