A 62 year old man from Yakima named Henry Castro, allegedly shot 2 of his neighbors with a gun near North 27th and Englewood avenues before locking himself in his house in a standoff with police and trying to kill himself.

The incident took place around 9:30 pm and lasted until around 3:30 am the next morning.

Castro shot himself in the head with his gun during the standoff but was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and is in critical condition, according to reports.

Castro's two neighbors, 19-year-old Shawna Umphrey and 43-year-old Michael Bretches, both survived but needed surgery at a local hospital for their wounds.

They are both expected to make a full recovery.

There are no reports on why Castro shot his two neighbors in the first place.
