We get a lot of great information from Diffuser.fm, and I saw this article about Florence & The Machine. She was really a remarkable talent, and it was fun to watch this video. I thought it may bring a memory or two to mind for some of you old enough to remember her!

It was a busy weekend for music lovers in the U.K. Not only was the Isle of Wight Festival going on this past Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but Radio 1′s Hackney Weekend had a busy two-day stretch as well. Video has surfaced of Florence + the Machine giving a goosebump-inducing performance of their hit ‘Shake It Out.’

Florence + the Machine performed on the main stage this past Sunday (June 24) to a massive crowd. While some would think singer Florence Welch’s vocals are best suited in a small theater or club setting, she had no problems holding the crowd’s attention during the group’s set. Welch effortlessly belted out the high notes of the first single off of her second studio album, ‘Ceremonials.’ The band even picks up the tempo near the end of the song, much to the audience’s delight.

It seems Florence + the Machine have cemented their place as one of the most prominent groups in music today. That’s saying something when Hackney Weekend featured heavy-hitters like hip-hop royalty Jay-Z, his protege Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Jack White and more.

In related news, Welch revealed that she has a thing for rapper M.I.A. ”I have a massive girl crush on M.I.A. — her video for ‘Bad Girls’ is the best music video I’ve ever seen,” she told the Radio Times.
