10 Awesome Holiday Songs To Check Out! [VIDEOS]
I'm such a huge fan of Christmas songs! I love it when this time of year rolls around so we can play some awesome holiday songs. I know everyone has their favorite holiday song but here are some of my favorites for you to check out!
I grew up in the '80s so a lot of my favorite holiday songs will be from that era but I also love the classics too.
Hall and Oates - Jingle Bell Rock - this song was all over the early days of MTV and as a youngster, I loved it and still do all these years later.
Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer - Gene Autry - Autry's is the definitive version of this classic song. A lot of people don't realize that Rudolph was actually created the Montgomery Ward Department Store in 1939.
I think my absolute favorite Christmas song is 1984's Band Aid "Do They Know It's Christmas". All of Britain's pop stars of the day come together to sing for famine relief in Africa. This song actually pre-dates the American version of "We Are The World".
I'm sure it's the weird keyboard sound that I like so much about this early 80s' X-mas song from former Beatle Paul McCartney!
It's hard to imagine that Rudolph The Red-Nose Reindeer was on the TV before I was born and it still holds up 50 plus years later. You can't have the holiday season without watching this TV classic and of course Burl Ives's classic song Holly Jolly Christmas!
This song in the late 90s' and early 00s' is a jam! You can't but help to sing along with N'Sync on this fun jam.
Karen Carpenter's voice is magical. This holiday classic really spotlights her amazing voice.
Brenda Lee was just 13 years old when she recorded this song back in 1958 - it's amazing this song has stood the test of time.
We can't do a list of the top 10 holiday classic and leave off Mariah Carey. I don't think that she even knew at the time she recorded a classic that we'd still be playing all these years later. I mean has the holiday season really started until you hear this nugget? I don't think so.
Let's wrap up our top 10 with another 80s' favorite and that's Wham's Last Christmas. It's been remade by everyone including Taylor Swift in recent years and really showcases why George Micheal was such a great vocalist.
So there you GO! A top 10 list of some great holiday classics - which is your favorite and what song would you add to our list - let us know in the comments below and have a Happy Holiday and Merry Christmas!
