25th Annual Chili Feed Ride Successful In Spite of Rainy Weather
The 25th Annual Chili Feed & Ride Sunday saw hundreds of riders in spite of the cloudy, rainy day! The ride organized by the Rattlesnake Ridge Riders /Back Country Horsemen of Washington, a not for profit organization dedicated to keeping our public lands open for use of saddle and pack animals.
Volunteers work maintaining trail heads, packing supplies into wilderness areas and trash out. They also educate all user groups to practice the principles of Leave No Trace to protect the enviroment. The annual ride was held Sunday March 13. Hundreds of people showed up for the ride! This years ride was complete with Silent Auction, Early Bird Breakfast Burritos, commemorative shirts, hats and cups as well as other vendors. And…an amazing Country vocalist and guitar player named Clay Moon, entertained all the riders while they ate a wonderful lunch of salad, chili, warm bread and chocolate cake! Check out his picture! He was great! Maybe he’ll be famous someday! He’s only 16 years old and had a voice like George Strait!
The ride takes place every year the second Sunday in March. We all had so much fun! Thank you to all who organize and volunteer for the this ride each year!
