Washington Has 5 Rivers That Belong on Every Outdoor Lover's Bucket List

It got me thinking about the best rivers to float and fish in Washington State, and here are my top five rivers you need to check out at least once in your life.

Let's kick off the top 5 with a river right next to the Tri-Cities, and that's the Yakima River.

The Yakima is famous for rainbow and cutthroat trout. You'll also find the canyon scenery between Ellensburg and Richland to be spectacular.

Moving up North, you've got to put the Wenatchee River on your fishing and float lists.

The Wenatchee River is a favorite for summer tubing near Leavenworth. The slower stretches are family-friendly, while some areas have faster water, so plan accordingly.

Two rivers I'd like to explore in the future are the Methow River and the Skagit River. Both are great for floating and fishing.

My final river has to be the Grande Ronde River. We put in at Boggan's Oasis, and the water was crystal clear. My wife nabbed 12 bass (which we caught and released). If you want a worthwhile trip, check out the Grande Ronde. I can't wait to go back again.
