Alleged Child Sex Abuser ‘Followed’ Victim from Toppenish to Kennewick
According to court documents, a 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an ongoing series of sexually abusive behaviors towards a girl.
Kennewick police arrested Adan Arroyo-Jiminez Wednesday (December 11) and he is facing First Degree Child Molestation charges filed in Benton County Superior Court.
Court documents say the alleged abuse began in Toppenish four years ago when the girl was 11. The investigation started this last June, when the girl's mother reported to police that Arroyo-Jiminez had assaulted her daughter when she was 11, and it had continued even after they moved to Kennewick. She is now 15.
Police conducted an interview with the girl, she had been speaking and working with counselors at the Kids Haven, a resource run by SARC (Sexual Assault Resource Center) as a way of helping children and teens who are sexually assaulted or abused.
Police learned of multiple incidents where the man admitted to touching the girls 'private parts' under her clothing when she lived in Buena (near Toppenish) in 2013 and 2014. There are other incidents believed to have happened as far back as 2011, and recently in Kennewick. Arroyo-Jiminez remains in the Benton County jail, the investigation is continuing.
