The Washington State Patrol reports a Columbia Burbank School District bus was hit head-on by a passenger car driven by a 16-year-old boy.

The crash occurred early this morning around 7am near the intersection of Quincy Road and Basin Drive. There were two students on board, say deputies: a 10th grader and 3rd-grade elementary student.

According to reports, the bus was rounding a corner at the time. The teen driver hit it while reportedly driving in the middle of the road (or wrong lane) at the time.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but deputies say the car crashed into the bus, causing extensive damage to both vehicles.

Fortunately, no one was injured, but for a young driver, this summer will not be fun.
