Beloved Pasco Police K-9 Supporter Has Passed Away
A beloved Pasco Police K-9 supporter has passed away.
I had the honor of meeting Norma Nunamaker many years ago when I was working at the competition and she was an amazing lady. She was very active in supporting causes she believed in and one of her favorite causes was the Pasco Police K-9 program.
Pasco Police posted on their Facebook about Norma's passing:
One of our great friends, Norma Nunamaker, passed away recently after years of dedicated service to military service folks and veterans, her church family, and local law enforcement. Her mission in life was to raise the spirits of those folks, and she had a big heart for the local police K9 teams, especially the doggos.
Her participation in ACES and Operation Thank You organized care packages to overseas troops and welcomed them home when they returned. She also brought K9 care packages around to PPD, KPD, and BCSO for the doggos. She was special to everyone who knew her.
Her memorial service will be on Monday, Jan 10, at 11 AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 240/ Swift. Her family wanted to thank Chaplaincy Hospice Care and aides from the UEW and mention how important her Redeemer Lutheran Church family was to her. We've seen her family and friends and we know her legacy of service and community support lives on. Rest in peace, Norma. We have the watch.
Norma was a lovely person. She helped a radio station I worked at back in the day raise money for the military and I really enjoyed her wonderful zeal for life and she won't be forgotten.
Thanks, Norma for your wonderful contributions to our community.
