I can't believe that the Benton Franklin County Fair and Rodeo is around the corner, August 25th through the 29th.

It's always a great time, but there are some things that you can't take to the fair and rodeo.

Here's a list of items that aren't allowed into the fair, so hopefully this list helps you not do the same thing that I've done when they make you dump your water at the gates.

From Weapons to Coolers: What's Banned at the Benton Franklin Fair?

Here is the list of what's NOT allowed in the fair:

• Weapons, including pocket knives and pepper spray
• Alcoholic beverages, marijuana, and illegal drugs
• Bicycles, skates, roller blades, scooters, and skateboards
• Outside Food or Drink
• Animals
• Ice Chests/Coolers

• Non-permitted Golf Carts
• Motorized Vehicles
• Drones
• Unauthorized Marketing
• Any item that is deemed by the Safety Inspection Staff and/or Fair management to be dangerous.

Here are the items that ARE allowed in the fair:

• Empty refillable bottle
• Service Animals*
• Items related to medical condition
• Collapsible/telescopic umbrellas
• Strollers & wagons
• Cameras for personal use
• Empty, collapsed tote bags
• Small bags, cinch bags, or purses
• Backpacks used as diaper bags
• Soft-sided coolers for infants/family or dietary needs
• Lawn chairs, blankets, seat cushions

So, as you get ready for this year's Benton Franklin County Fair and Rodeo, just refer to this list so you know the dos and don'ts of the items you can/cannot take into the fairgrounds.
