Building Sale Shutters Famous Dave’s BBQ in Kennewick

As far as most in the business community and customers knew, this was a surprise.

Famous Dave's BBQ located just West of Columbia Center Mall abruptly closed it's doors Wednesday (August 28th) leaving a number of workers out of a job, and many customers without their favorite BBQ.

According to sources, a sign taped to the front door greeted customers and it read:

"Restaurant Closed for Business. We appreciated your patronage & it was a privilege serving the Tri-Cities."

A source, identified as an employee at the restaurant at 8110 West Gage Blvd. said the restaurant was leasing that building, but it had been sold, and apparently Famous Dave's lost their lease, closing the restaurant.

The sign on the door said their Union Gap location would remain open and continue to serve customers.  No other information was released or was available. It is not yet known what, if any, business will occupy the building.

It is not known if they will reopen elsewhere in the Tri-Cities.
