Kennewick police recently released the girlfriend of a Tri-City Americans hockey player for threatening to harm him inside a Kennewick hotel.

At the time of the alleged incident, the reporter was dating a player who joined the team two weeks earlier after being traded from the Spokane Chiefs.

Police say she allegedly threatened harm to him for dating other women. She reportedly drove to Kennewick, WA, from Kelowna, British Columbia, to meet up with him. The player showed police the texts. They went to her hotel room and told her to leave America and not make contact with the player. She allegedly texted him again, so they arrested her.

The reporter pled not guilty and in 2015, charges against her were dismissed after a plea deal was made before the trial.
