Change a Person’s Life: ‘Yoga Behind Bars’ Needs Volunteers
Local group "Yoga Behind Bars" is seeking volunteers to become yoga-instructor certified so a local chapter can be formed to visit local prisons. Organizers say the organization changes lives and helps prisoners make better decisions.
The class is $325 (includes a manual and 17 hours of continuing education credits for certification with Yoga Alliance). That's right, you have to pay to help someone else. That's because this isn't a weekend soup kitchen stint, or service vacation. This is the process to become someone who changes lives. That's a big commitment, but to whom much is given much is expected.
The class will be given at Yoga Community at 4415 W. Clearwater Ave. in Kennewick.
