Covid Cancels West Richland’s National Night Out
Due to Covid-19, the West Richland Police Department has announced the cancellation of National Night Out 2020.
The original date was set for August 6th, however, due to COVID-19, the event was moved to October 6th.
National Night Out culminates annually on the first Tuesday in August.
National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. The state of Texas and select areas celebrate the first Tuesday in October. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are strongly recommending that all National Night Out 2020 areas celebrate on October 6th, the first Tuesday in October.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Organizers are hoping the National Night Out event in 2021 will be bigger and better.
