Did Tri-Cities Schools Really Serve Sally Lunn Bread?
We can agree that all school lunches weren't created equal. A lot of people in the Yakima Valley and The Tri-Cities have a fondness for cheese zombies and cinnamon rolls and chili but does anyone remember something called Sally Lunn Bread?
I always thought the bread was called "Sally Lund" bread but it was years later that I discovered that it's actually called Sally Lunn bread.
Was Sally Lunn bread ever served in the Tri-Cities?

Sally Lunn bread if you didn't know is a slightly sweet, brioche-like bread that has been credited to a Sally Lunn back in the 1680s but there is speculation that it is just a made-up name kind of like Betty Crocker. I know...mind blown...Betty Crocker wasn't a real person?

In my hometown of Clarkston Washington, the schools served the bread on occasion and I always looked forward to those days.
Do you remember when the school menu was printed out on paper? I'd circle the days when it was served just to get a slice.
I haven't had the bread in years but I think I'm going to try and make it myself.
