Guy Fieri Enjoys Leavenworth WA Eats on Diners Drive-Ins & Dives
The Food Network is one of my go-to TV networks with dozens of amazing foodie favorites you can stream and binge-watch anytime. I don't know about you, but this often leads me to binge-eating, but, I digress. The hit show, Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives has been on the network since 2006. Host Guy Fieri is an entertaining personality, in addition to being a superb chef, restauranteur, celebrity, and family man.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Fieri has done a great deal for firefighters over the past few terrible wildfire seasons, going out to the frontlines and doing what he does best - cooking amazing food for those who are working so hard to keep us safe.
Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives and Guy Fieri in Washington State
One of the charming and entertaining aspects of the show is learning about some often-well-kept local secrets from all around the country. When Flavortown comes to your town or area and a restaurant you know and love, that's pretty amazing. Not only does a visit from 'Triple D' put a town on the map, but many establishments have also seen their business go 'off the chain' as Guy might say.
I don't know how it escaped me, but Guy and his crew visited an area near and dear to my heart a year or two ago, featuring a truly worthy spot on an episode that first aired last fall. Get ready to don your lederhosen, blow an alpenhorn, and bring your appetite. We're headed to Leavenworth!
Guy Fieri Enjoys Leavenworth, WA Area '59er Diner on Diners Drive-Ins & Dives
As a part of Season 34 of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, Guy Fieri and his crew visit the legendary '59er Diner' near Leavenworth, Washington. It's actually just 15 miles west of the Bavarian Village on Highway 2, near Lake Wenatchee. The establishment had been a part of the landscape in the area for years and years, but after a devastating fire, they rebuilt bigger and better with an amazing new, well, old, design. You can check out the segment below to hear and see the entire story.
The episode will air again on August 5th and 6th. Check your local listings. I plan to be in the greater Wenatchee/Leavenworth area soon, and I'm definitely going to stop by and give them a try. I noticed on their website that they also rent cabins in the area for fishing or other outdoor getaway opportunities. Check them out at 59erdiner.com. They even have a live cam on the website.
