Drunk Wrong Way Highway Driver Nearly Hits Benton County Deputy

Thursday evening, A Benton County Deputy was driving on Highway 240 when he noticed headlights coming AT him  in his lane. Highway 240, is of course a DIVIDED road.

The officer was narrowly missed by an alleged drunk driver, who was diving in the wrong lanes. The Deputy was headed east, they were headed west but driving in the east bound lanes. Then they apparently used the eastbound highway onramp to get up to Edison where Kennewick Police responded and corralled the suspects in the Circle K parking lot at Canal and Edison.

Kennewick Police and BCSO Deputies surrounded the vehicle, it was an SUV towing a UTV four wheeler. The driver was arrested for a variety of charges, including DUI. It's remarkable no one was hurt in the incident, especially the driver using the on ramp as an off ramp.

The identities and number of persons in the vehicle was not released by authorities.
