I spent this past weekend on the west side of the mountains. I escaped the heat of the Tri-Cities for a short time and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Spending time with my kids and grandkids is always priceless memories in the making! We love to explore new and fun places.

Exploring unique areas of Washington State

On Saturday, we left the kids home and traveled about an hour from Gig Harbor to a town called Lilliwap. We stopped at a very interesting place to eat called Hama Hama

We had made reservations but really didn't know what to expect. We were seated in these plywood shacks and ate delicious seafood in this hut-style dinette.

Oysters and Clams were excellent. And so was the wine! A nice gentleman came around with a high-tech wasp swatter! and charmed us with his seasoned Sailor's dialect" I thought he might break out in a Sea Shanty song!

I was amazed at the mountain of Clamshells and Oyster shells built from discarded tasty Crustaceans.

The weather was amazing and just warm enough to be in summer clothing without being overcome with the heat we experience this time of year in the Tri-Cities.

The tree-lined drive and beautiful views of the water were amazing to see. Washington State is truly one of the most beautiful states in the Country. I love the varied topography and visible waterways.

I am grateful that it's a short drive to the west side of the state when it gets too hot here. Of course, I'm always glad I live on this side of the state when it's raining so much during spring on the west side.
