Who loves a good sandwich? If you've never tried a Vietnamese Sandwich, it's time. Run, don't walk to Why Not! My Pho Kitchen. It's Foodie Friday's with Sarah J powered by Coca-Cola of Yakima and Tri-Cities and we're about to go in on the umami!

I'm no fancy pants when it comes to culinary verbiage but I have heard Ming Thai say it a lot during his cooking show and for the sandwich at Why Not! My Pho Kitchen, it's the best description of what's going on with this flavor bomb.

The definition of Umami

the taste sensation that is produced by several amino acids and nucleotides (such as glutamate and aspartate) and has a rich or meaty flavor characteristic of cheese, cooked meat, mushrooms, soy, and ripe tomatoes

I am a flavor freak so ordering the sandwich with options of beef or chicken, tofu, pork or more is always on my mind. I decided to upgrade it with an over-easy egg, cooked to perfection with the yoke running once you begin to bite into it. There is a slightly spicy mayo added with pickled carrots, cilantro, and house bread that's fresh and incredibly delicious. Their spring rolls are a perfect side and if you love a good cream cheese butterfly, do it! I also added what I thought was going to be a milk boba. I still am learning how to order the drinks. I said Green Tea Boba and she asked if I wanted any flavors like mango, I wasn't sure but found out the boba balls are slightly sweet so no milk but I have to say a fresh green tea boba is bomb too. Just be careful and don't drink it too fast, don't want to have a boba issue

Located at N 40th Ave &, Summitview Ave, Yakima, WA 98902 they are open every day 11 am - 8 pm (Memorial Day hours could be different) it's worth a taste if you haven't been yet!
