Grant County's K-9 Chewbacca Takes Down Domestic Violence Suspect

Have you ever watched a K9 police training video? You'd think lawbreakers would take notice because I wouldn't want to tussle with a K9 but alas a domestic violence suspect got more than he could handle when he tried to run from a K9 officer.

K9 Chewbacca helped catch a domestic violence suspect yesterday according to a posting on the Grant County Sheriff's Department Facebook page.

The report says that 26-year-old Tyler JD Hill of Moses Lake allegedly spit in his girlfriend's face and threatened to stab her with a screwdriver.

Here is the rest of the story as filed by Chewy's handler Cpl. Nic Overland:

Hill fled to a camper on the property in the 4000 block of Road E.9-Northeast. Chewy climbed through a hole in the camper and latched onto Hill’s arm, allowing deputies to safely take Hill into custody.
Hill was lodged in the Grant County Jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault domestic violence, a felony warrant for first-degree theft, and two misdemeanor warrants.
