
Investigation Underway After Toddler Found Dead in Richland
Richland Police are investigating the death of a toddler found at a home in the 2300 block of Camden Street.
The 18-Month Old Child Was Pronounced Deceased at the Residence
On Tuesday, the Richland Police Department was dispatched to the home at about 10:30 am to assist Richland Fire Department personnel already at the scene. According to the Police Department:
Detectives with the Richland Police Department Criminal Investigations Division (CID) responded and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. This is standard procedure in cases involving unexpected or unattended deaths. At this time, the investigation remains active and ongoing. No determination has been made regarding the cause and manner of the child's death, and no additional charges have been filed related to the death investigation.

After Investigation, a 31-Year Old Male Was Arrested
As part of the investigation, Francisco Estrada was taken into custody on Wednesday. He was booked into the Benton County Jail on an investigative hold for multiple charges including:
• Domestic Violence Assault - Strangulation
• Assault With a Deadly Weapon
• Unlawful Imprisonment
• Interfering With the Reporting of Domestic Violence
All of the charges are unrelated to the death of the child.
