Three juveniles were detained Tuesday night accused of using a baseball bat to damage a parked vehicle.

Just before midnight, Hermiston Police were called to the 1200 block of West Ridgeway for an altercation.  When officers arrived, it was reported the group of males drove off after damaging the vehicle, to the tune of over $1,000.

Sometime later in Umatilla, the suspect car was stopped, and Hermiston Police detained two teens for charges related to damaging the parked vehicle earlier in Hermiston. A third teen was taken into custody for possession of a stolen handgun.

All three Umatilla teens have had previous incidents with law enforcement.

The Umatilla County Juvenile Department is handling the case.

While in-class learning hasn't returned just yet to the area, police do have some suggestions on how time can be better spent.
