Suspect Surrenders Following Kennewick Kidnapping, SWAT Response

The report states that Johnny Borrego had kidnapped his girlfriend and, while doing so, threatened his girlfriend’s mother with a firearm. Borrego then fled with his girlfriend.

After an hour or so, Borrego returned to his original location with his girlfriend. The Kennewick Police and SWAT were called in. Borrego ended up barricading himself in the apartment with the mother.

Officers were able to rescue the girlfriend, but the mom and Borrego remained barricaded.

SWAT was able to rescue the mother, and Borrego eventually surrendered after a short negotiation.

Borrego was booked on the charges of kidnapping, felony harassment, unlawful imprisonment, and unlawful possession of a firearm, along with outstanding warrants and charges from previous incidents.
