A Kennewick woman is under arrest after a CPS warrant was enforced near Clearwater Avenue on Monday night.

In a posting from the Kennewick Police, Shaveon Sandifur was found to have an outstanding warrant from the Kennewick Police Department for Failure to Supervise Children.

Woman Faces New Charges After Resisting Arrest During Kennewick CPS Call
The incident occurred on July 27, 2026, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Kennewick Police officers were dispatched to assist Child Protective Services (CPS) in the 5100 block of W. Clearwater Ave.

While officers were taking Sandifur into custody, she resisted by refusing to exit her vehicle, grabbing onto the steering wheel, and bracing her legs to prevent officers from removing her. She was subsequently placed under arrest and secured in the WRAP restraint device to ensure the safety of both officers and Sandifur.
After the arrest, Sandifur was then transported by Kennewick Fire Department medics to Trios Hospital for medical clearance before being booked into the Benton County Jail.
She was additionally charged with resisting arrest and obstructing a public servant.
