The lifeguard assumes responsibility and accountability form maintaining a safe environment in the pool area.
Position: Lifeguard
Essential Position Functions 1. Perform lifeguard functions as scheduled 2. Instruct aquatic safety rules and regulations. 3. Act swiftly in an emergency, take action even when unsure whether a person is in danger. 4. Monitor daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local and health and safety regulations. 5. Review, practice, follow, make recommendations to improve safety procedures and practices.
Must have the ability to stand and sit for extended periods. Remain alert under conditions of high heat and humidity. Move safely to various locations, including entering and exiting. See and hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment, including in the water and anywhere around the zone of responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Education: High School Diploma
Experience: 2 years lifeguard experience preferred.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Current Lifeguard Certification. Current Adult, Child, and Infant CPR Certification
Level of Business Knowledge/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 1. Comprehension a. Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral, verbal, and/or written instructions 2. Reasoning and Decision Making a.
