The Project Laborer will work with the Site Services Team and is responsible for providing labor on various projects. Projects are diverse and include work on commercial, industrial, and agricultural properties. The ideal candidate has a desire to learn, is proactive, keeps a positive attitude and can work independently and efficiently. This is a part-time position with the potential for full-time hours depending on project needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Reliable and arrive on time to work every day.
• Keep tools clean for reuse.
• Cleaning and preparing project site.
• Building and taking down scaffolding and temporary structures.
• Remove debris, load and unload materials, dig trenches, compact earth, and backfill holes.
• Use power and hand tools to complete tasks (sanding, drilling, pressure washing, demo, etc.)
• Preform basic carpentry, electrical and plumbing repairs (replacing tiles, repairing flooring, painting etc.)
• Clear snow and ice from buildings and grounds by shoveling, operating a snowplow, snow blower, etc.
• At times travel to properties alone or as a team across the Pacific Northwest for up to 5 days at a time.
• Assist others with their duties.
• Occasional farm and landscaping projects.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Experience and Abilities:
The following summarizes a few of the successful candidate’s personal characteristics:
• Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Perform basic math, algebra and geometry calculations.
• Make sure each job is done correctly the first time and in a timely manner.
• Work indoors and outdoors, in cold and hot environments depending on weather conditions.
• Must be alert, have good judgement, work independently or as part of a team when needed.
• Follows policies and procedures and complete tasks as directed and on time and in a safe manner.
• Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds; push, carry, pull or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devises); carry ladders, work from heights, work in confined spaces.
• To perform this very physical job one must have be ability to conduct strenuous and physically demanding tasks for long hours in extreme environmental conditions.
