Man Threatens Cops, Strangles Girlfriend Before Being Hit by Rubber Bullets
A 30-year-old man will be facing a plethora of charges after a spree Monday night.
THE SUSPECT WAVED A KNIFE, CHARGED AT POLICE
According to reports, Matthew Earns of Hermiston is in the Umatilla County jail after he allegedly strangled his girlfriend in her apartment building.

Hermiston Police received a domestic violence 9-1-1 call and dispatched officers. When they arrive Earns reportedly met them in the parking lot, armed with two large hunting knives. The specific apartment location was not given by Police.
THE SUSPECT STABBED WHAT?
According to reports from Elkhorn Media, Earns charged at officers, keeping them at bay for nearly an hour. At one point he got close enough to one of the vehicles that he stabbed the cover on a Hermiston PD truck.
At that point, Police went into action with a 40MM rubber bullet gun.They shot him once, then a second time when he refused to drop the weapons.
That second shot did the job, and he was apprehended by Police. After being cleared at Good Shepard Hospital he was taken to jail.

WHO DID THE SUSPECT ATTEMPT TO STRANGLE?
During the follow-up investigation Police learned that Earns tried to strangle his girlfriend, threw her on the floor, and also repeatedly threatened her elderly grandmother, according to Elkhorn Media.
No word on what the multiple specific charges he's facing are.
