Maria Shriver Files for Divorce from Arnold Schwarzenegger
Maria Shriver decided to celebrate her independence from Arnold Schwarzenegger this weekend.
On Friday, Shriver filed for divorce from the former California governor after 25 years of marriage.
Shriver's move comes after the highly-publicized revelation Schwarzenegger fathered a son with their former housekeeper.
Shriver is seeking joint custody of the 17-year-old and 13-year-old sons she has with Schwarzenegger. The couple, which announced in May they had separated, also has two older kids.
The couple does not have a prenuptial agreement, although Shriver stands to gain as much as half of her soon-to-be ex-husband's fortune because California law states income brought in during a marriage should be treated as an equal asset.
