Middle School Staff Fends Off Violent Attack in College Place
A 16 year old and his 18-year-old brother broke into John Sager Middle School in College Place Thursday afternoon with the intent to kill or harm Principal Dale Stopperan.
They had a large wooden club and a metal spear they used to bust through glass to enter a locked office a little after 1 p.m.
After stopping the attack on Stopperan the adults ran outside to meet police. The school was placed on lockdown.
One boy ran out the back of the school and was apprehended by police. The other refused to leave the office but was subdued with a bean-bag gun.
The 16 year old was taken to a juvenile facility and the 18 year old was booked into jail. Both attend College Place High School adjacent to the middle school.
