No, Your Washington License Plates Haven’t Been Canceled!
A lot of Washington Drivers are getting letters this week saying their license plates have been canceled.
The letter looks legit about the license cancellations and for good reason - They did actually come from the Washington State Department of Licensing.
These letters were accidentally sent after a Department of Licensing computer upgrade last month. If you have a personalized license plate, you might have already received a letter saying your plates have been canceled but it's a mistake.
Over 41,000 letters went out before the State of Washington caught the error.
If you get one of these letters, don't fret. You can check out your license plates status here and the State of Washington will be sending out correction letters this week according to a press release.
