More than 30,000 pounds of food will be handed out to people in need this Saturday.

Pasco's New Beginning Christian Community Church is the site where food will be distributed while supplies last.  (1116 North 20th Avenue-Pasco)

Food boxes will be given to families in a drive-through style beginning at 11 am. The event is scheduled to go on till 4 pm, or until all the food has been given out.

You'll be required to stay in your vehicles and volunteers will bring the food box to you.

The boxes will contain produce grown on local farms, a protein item, and a dairy item, such as butter or cheese.

Organizer Marlando Sparks said the food distribution is made possible by the USDA Farmers to Families Food Box Program.  The Pasco Police Department will also be assisting.
