Pasco Man Jailed on Several Charges After Crash With WSP Trooper

A Washington State Patrol Trooper was taken to the hospital after a crash in a chase early Wednesday morning.

A Richland Police officer attempted to stop a speeding vehicle after the driver ran a red light.  The driver refused to pull over.

Trooper Chadwick Williams was in his patrol vehicle in pursuit of the suspect, 35-year old Ian Shipp of Pasco.

Shipp lost control of his vehicle and collided with the trooper's cruiser near the Edison exit on SR 240 in Kennewick.

Both Trooper Williams and Shipp were taken to the hospital and released with minor injuries.

Shipp was booked at the Benton County Jail on charges of eluding, DUI, and drug possession.  Shipp also had an active warrant.
