If you find a person you really like, you probably won't be put off by their quirky behavior. On the other hand, if it isn't a good match, sometimes the slightest things will drive you crazy.

Red flags that keep you from dating someone

I've miserably beat myself up for things I found 'unappealing' on a date. But the "ick factor' is real. And it can come on suddenly! Again, when you are truly in love or into someone seriously, most of the little things won't bother you at all.

Dating is difficult but there are plenty of online ways of meeting people in the Tri-Cities and beyond

A recent article from Wise Brothers Media listed some hilarious survey responses, so I thought I'd share.

What petty reason stopped you from dating someone?

1.  "She was perfect, except she would snap her fingers whenever someone said something she liked.  Every conversation was peppered with snaps."

2.  A guy did his Beavis impression from "Beavis and Butt-Head", and the woman realized he kind of looked like Beavis in general.  So that was it.

3.  On Tinder, a woman always swiped left on any guy holding an iPhone without a case because, quote, "I didn't need that kind of stress in my life."

4.  A guy talked about his Italian heritage too much.  Nothing against Italians, it was just way too constant.

5.  "He had a Velcro wallet."

6.  A guy spread ketchup across his entire plate at breakfast, then chopped his food up into one big pile.  "Pancakes were involved."

7.  A woman took 40 minutes getting ready to take her dog for a walk.

8.  The person didn't use turn signals.  Quote, "If you can't communicate on the road, you can't communicate in real life."

9.  "I asked them how they were doing, and they said 'hashtag blessed.'"

10.  Sometimes a person's voice can just irritate you for no good reason.  A TON of people agreed with that one.

11.  A guy clapped at the end of a movie, and his date felt like they had to clap too.  Relationship over.

12.  A guy said his favorite color was purple, and they think purple is dumb.

13.  Serious food allergies.  It's just too much pressure knowing that if you kiss the person after eating peanut butter, they could die.

14.  A woman chewed with her mouth open.  The person she was with tried dropping hints, and even made up a story about a gross coworker who did it.  But she didn't stop, so that was it.

15.  "[She had] the same name as my mom.  I just couldn't do it."

My suggestion to myself and you is to go easy on prospective dates. Remember, you probably have quirky things about yourself that may be annoying too.

Happy Dating!
