Plaza Way Repaving Means Detours in Walla Walla
It's officially summer and the orange cone seeds that were planted in the spring have started popping up everywhere! At least much of the work will be done overnight, but it looks like they will be paving during the day today.
I don't envy anyone who works outside in this heat. And it's just going to get hotter by the weekend. Walla Walla can expect a high today of 97, which will probably be a welcomed temp come Saturday and Sunday when it's expected to be 105 and 107. Add a few degrees to that for the Tri-Cities. Walla Walla's hottest day on record reached 113 degrees on August 5, 1961. That very same day set the hottest temp ever recorded in Washington State at 118 degrees, ironically at Ice Harbor Dam. The average temp for Walla Walla in July is 91.
