Police Warn of Stimulus Check Text Scam, Don’t Fall for It!
As many of us look forward to receiving our 2nd stimulus check, West Richland Police are warning of another SCAM. This time, scammers are sending out text messages advising if you've received a stimulus deposit, that further action is required to receive payment. BEWARE. THIS IS A SCAM. Further action takes you to a website.
When you click on that link you'll be directed to a site to enter your personal account information. This is NOT a requirement to get your stimulus check.
Police are asking that you share this information with anyone who may be vulnerable to fall for this type of scam. You should NEVER have to enter any personal account information. Police advise you to call the IRS If you have any questions.
With the 2nd round of Stimulus checks we want to warn you of a 2nd round of possible Scams related to the Stimulus...
