2020 has been the year of everything being uncertain.  In fact, a lot of us just wish we could cancel 2020 altogether.

However, while some Halloween celebrations have been canceled, some events WILL indeed take place.

The Prosser Parks and Recreation Department is working with Prosser Memorial Health Medical Center, Benton REA, and Yakima Federal Savings and Loan to host their first-ever Pumpkin Painting Contest.

The event is open to all school students from elementary, middle school, and high school.  Each group of students has their own theme.

Elementary students are encouraged to submit "Funny" themed painted pumpkins.

Middle School students should enter "Scary" themed pumpkins.

And, High School students should paint "Day of the Dead" themed pumpkins.

The painted pumpkin creations will be judged by Prosser City staff, with first and second place rewards in each category.  The winners will receive gift cards.

For details, visit: www.cityofprosser.com/parksandrec, limit one entry per student. The deadline to submit a picture of your pumpkin is midnight October 20, 2020. Submit your picture to: parksandrec@ci.prosser.wa.us. Winners will be announced October 26th via Prosser Parks and Recreation Facebook page and by phone. All entries will receive a candy bag on October 30th from 8am to 5pm at Prosser City Hall, 601 7th St, Prosser WA.
This free event is being offered to all city residents and visitors. Lewd or vulgar submissions will not be accepted.
