Although they were stolen last November, police digging and investigating led to the recovery of two rare expensive horse saddles, and also possibly cracked upon a theft ring.

The East Oregonian is reporting a 49-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the stealing of the saddles along with other items in a horse trailer in Umatilla County last fall.

The suspect, Scott Allen McIntosh of Milton-Freewater, is in the Umatilla County jail on meth and other charges. He'd been pursued and captured January 24th. As part of the standard search warrant for his vehicle police found evidence from that trailer theft.  Two of the saddles stolen were recovered.

However, the trailer is still missing. It is believed to have been painted black since it's theft, none of the other items inside it have been recovered. However, McIntosh was found to have been in possession of some $4,000 worth of stolen tools taken from the College Place area.  It is hoped further investigating will lead authorities to the trailer.
